Maintaining a healthy and good looking lawn takes work. Here are a few lawn mowing tips:.
- Mow your lawn regularly cutting no more than 1/3 of the blade each time. Regular mowing helps create a dense turf.
- Sharpen your mower blades because sharp blades will slice the grass rather than tear it. This causes less stress to the plant.
- Avoid cutting grass too short. Try setting your mower height to around 2.5 to 3". The taller grass will develop deeper roots and stay greener during dry periods.
- Skip the bagging of your grass clippings. Clipping left on the lawn will break down and create nitrogen. This reduces your need for fertilizer.
